A Robot [Rubot] Knows the Rubiks Cube Solution

Now when robots eventually conquer the human race and make us their slaves, not only will they make us suffer for the way we treated them (I am sure at one point in your life you have slapped punched or otherwise hit an electronic device to get it working properly), but now they will able to laugh at us when they solve Rubiks Cube in 35 seconds.

So what am I rambling on about?

I found this video of a robot called Rubot II, that can solve rubiks cube in just over 30 seconds! Watch the video below to see the Rubik robot in action.

I must say that this is an amazing invention. It's pretty fantastic to see something like that solve Rubiks Cube. After watching the video a few times I noticed something that kind of "cheapened" the whole experience. It looks like all the robot did was just do the opposite of the what the girl did to mix up the cube. Watch how the girl initially mixes up the Rubiks Cube, it looks pretty deliberate and planned out.

Despite this flaw I am still impressed that someone took the time to build an entire robot the can solve a Rubiks Cube!

So Simple a Child Could Solve a Rubiks Cube

When I first learned how to solve the Rubiks Cube, I thought I had really accomplished something. I had learned how to solve a puzzle that has been plaguing me for most of my life. Ok it hasn't really plagued me my entire life, but every time I walk past the cube I swear it is mocking me.

Now that I am able to solve the cube it doesn't haunt me any more, but all the same it was challenge to learn and I feel a sense of accomplishment.

And then I see a video that makes me feel like I should have solved the cube long ago. Apparently the Rubiks Cube is so easy to solve that a child can do it. This is where that sense of accomplishment just floats away. I get excited when I solve the cube in 5 minutes.

So how do I feel when I three year old child solves the Rubiks cube in under 2 minutes?

Her hands are tinier than the cube. It is absolutely amazing. I guess I have to practice some more
